Nutella Stuffed Banana Bread

Nutella and bananas is a combination created by the gods! This yummy and sweet bread marries the two together beautifully.  It is a really easy recipe, and a great way to use up past-their-best bananas. That said, you can use yellow bananas too, but you’ll probably need to add a tablespoon of honey to the mixture. The bread itself isn’t too unhealthy as it doesn’t contain any sugar and contains oats. Alternatively, for a healthier option, you could replace the Nutella with peanut butter, or simply leave it out altogether!


If you don’t have a loaf tin, or you want to pack them easier for an on-the-go snack, they work well as muffins. Simply pour the mixture between 6 muffins, making sure to put a (heaped!) teaspoon of Nutella in the middle of each one.


Nutella Stuffed Banana Bread

  • 400 g banana
  • 100 g oats
  • 2 eggs
  • 200 g self raising flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tbsp sunflower oil
  • 4(+!) tbsp Nutella

Preheat the oven to 150 °C (fan). Line a 1 lb loaf tin with baking parchment.

Mash the bananas.

Sieve the flour and baking powder together and add to the mashed banana along with all of the other ingredients, except the Nutella. Mix together well.

Cover the bottom of the loaf tin with the mixture, then spoon some Nutella on top. Add another layer of the mixture, and spoon some more Nutella on top. Finish with a final layer of the mixture.

Bake for ~30 min.
